POSITION OVERVIEW: The Servicing Compliance Senior Manager’s primary duty is to guarantee our organization's adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry norms. We seek an ideal candidate equipped with extensive expertise in Mortgage Servicing Compliance, legal matters, and regulatory reporting. This pivotal position demands meticulous attention to detail and adept communication skills for seamless interaction with internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES, includes the following responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Serve as the senior compliance advisor to CMG’s Mortgage Servicing team.
- Regularly review and analyze mortgage servicing operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as industry regulations and guidelines (i.e. CFPB regulations, RESPA, TILA).
- Design, implement and maintain a successful business-aligned compliance program to identify, monitor, assess, control and report on compliance risk; detect and prevent customer harm; and ensure compliance.
- Develop and update policies to reflect changes in regulations and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
- Develop and maintain compliance training program for employees on compliance policies, procedures, and regulatory changes to ensure understanding and adherence across the organization.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments to identify areas of non-compliance or potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
- Investigate any compliance issues or complaints and develop and implement corrective actions or remediation plans as necessary.
- Stay abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to mortgage servicing compliance, and ensure organizational compliance with new requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments such as legal, risk management, and operations to ensure alignment of compliance efforts with overall business objectives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to compliance activities and regulatory communications.
- Assist with CFPB, state and federal agency, and other regulatory examinations.
- Maintain the Servicing Compliance Plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 7+ years of experience in mortgage compliance, with the majority in mortgage servicing.
- Management experience; manage a group of analysts; internal and remote.
- Proven knowledge of residential mortgage servicing practices and processes, along with expertise in investor and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to guide the business unit on implementation of regulatory changes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software.
- Data analytics and data integrity is needed to ensure successful attainment of performance goals.
- Organized, high attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in time management are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous experience with regulatory and issues change management required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct Reports: 1-2 compliance professionals
